BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Preschoolers have an innate curiosity about the world around them, including nature. Encourage a healthy love of and respect for nature in your youngsters ages 3 to 5 by enrolling them in Cubs Club, a recently introduced program at Everglades Holiday Park (21940 Griffin Rd., Fort Lauderdale 33332; 954-357-8868). It takes place on select Wednesdays from 10 to 11AM and costs $5/child.

Programs may include games, hands-on activities, and a nature walk. Drinking water, insect repellent, and sunscreen are recommended. For the month of November, there will be three programs, as follows:

• Nov. 6th – “Rockin’ Rocks & Fossils” – Learn about the history of Florida’s geology, from coral to limestone, seashells to sand.
• Nov. 13th – “Freaky Flora” – This program will teach kids about how plants grow in all shapes and colors.
• Nov. 20th – “Native American Lessons” – Participants will learn how Native Americans lived off the land, what they ate, how they celebrated.
