Broward Commissioners Approve Leasing Pompano Shelter
  
- Deadline for 501(c)(3) applications due November 19, 2019 -
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The Board of Broward County Commissioners has given final approval to lease a portion of the Pompano Animal Shelter, located at 3100 NW 19th Terrace, in Pompano Beach, to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

 

The lease will enable Animal Care to partner with an established, non-profit animal welfare organization, which has proven success in fostering, adoptions, and ongoing out-of-state transport of pets to partner shelters.

 

The selected applicants will be expected to provide services which will assist  Broward County Animal Care (ACAD) achieve its No-Kill goal, by providing the following services:

 

1. Remove from the ACAD Shelter a minimum of thirty (30) canines and (40) felines per month.

2. Partner with other groups that specialize in Pet Retention programs.

3. Operate a neonatal kitten nursery.

4. Provide monthly transports of dogs and cats to out-of-state shelters.

  

Interested parties must hand deliver the application and documentation to Animal Care and Adoption, 2400 SW 42 Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, no later than 5PM Tuesday, November 19th. The application and requirements are attached below.
