All Broward County Library Programs/Events Canceled Until Further Notice

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – In an abundance of caution, and acknowledging the expressed concerns and state of uncertainty regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Broward County Libraries will be canceling all events until further notice.

This is effective immediately and includes all events (classes, programs, workshops, story times, outreach events, room reservations etc.) at all Broward County Library locations. In addition, we have closed the Active Learning Center at the Main Library and removed all manipulatives (toys, puzzles, etc.) from all libraries.

All libraries are scheduled to stay open with regular operating hours. Please note that Early Voting will continue at designated libraries through March 15 as planned.  Primary Election Day (March 17) will be held at designated libraries that serve as precincts as planned.

Broward County Libraries will continue to provide free and open access to books, materials, public computers and Wi-Fi, as well as the expert recommendations and help of our staff. Customers are encouraged to visit a Broward County Library to complete the critical 2020 Census and learn about why an accurate count is so important. We also offer an array of digital resources that customers can access at all times outside of our branches via our website, Broward.org/Library, including free eBooks, eMagazines as well as streaming and downloadable music, movies and TV shows.

Additionally, customers can check out digital tablets at 21 Broward County Library locations. Tablets can be checked out for three months and renewed once for an additional three months. Please visit our Gear to Go web page for locations and details.

The Broward County government website, Broward.org/Cornonavirus, will continue to provide updates as new information is received.
