FLL's "Operation Uplift II" Initiative to Benefit Local Community

- Second food distribution to assist area residents in need -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – On Saturday, June 13, 2020, Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) will host another food distribution event in partnership with Air Charter Advisors and Signature Aviation. This second food giveaway aims to assist community residents economically-impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Millions of American jobs have been lost since March as businesses closed doors or temporarily restricted operations due to federal, state, and local government stay-at-home orders aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19. Still, even though South Florida businesses have begun to reopen in phases, financial challenges remain within the community.

The drive-thru event, set for 9AM -11AM, will take place along the airport's Departures (Upper) Level between Terminals 1 and 2 (Media Staging Area) at 50 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale.

During the food distribution, bags of essential household items, including canned goods, paper products, and toiletries, will be handed out to impacted community residents, rain or shine, while supplies last.

The airport's first "Operation Uplift" food distribution took place on May 30 near Signature Aviation, benefitting laid off and furloughed workers across FLL's commercial and general aviation partners, tenants, and service providers/suppliers.
