AARLCC-LABB's Free Online Tech & Media Courses Start January 11, 2021

BROWARD COUNTY, FL Join the African American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) for our upcoming Lifting & Advancing Black Business (LABB) Series, Showcasing through the Lens - The Business of Photography from Concept to Application, held online starting Monday, January 11, 2021, from 3-5PM.

In this four-part course, which includes a monthly online class and an online follow-up meet up/critique, participants at all levels and stages of entrepreneurship can learn how to create great photographs that can help take a company or project to the next level. Explore new tools to "Lift and Advance" your business and find out how to maximize your existing techniques and progress towards using professional-level equipment. 

In addition to an online two-hour class session held monthly from January through April, there will be a free, online follow-up Meet Up & Critique. These follow-up events reinforce important concepts covered in the classes, use constructive feedback to help attendees develop their creative style and critical eye for detail and utilize concepts of action and accountability to ensure participants a positive and beneficial learning experience.

Explore the business of photography and how you can make money with your photo equipment, either as a complement to your current business or as professional photographer.

Part 4: You & Your CreativityMonday, April 5, 3-5PM, Register
Learn how to nurture, safeguard and advocate for your own creative identity and avoid falling into stylistic trends/fads.

Following "Showcasing through the Lens," AARLCC will host LABB"s companion "Digital Humanities Course: Photography." Beginning in April 2021, the class will cover how images address and engage disparate subject matters across media, language and location and also how they impact Black history.
