BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Who says drive-in movies are a thing of the past? In the time of COVID-19, what makes more sense than staying in your car to watch a movie in a park. You get out of the house and stay safe at the same time. You can do just that on Friday, January 15th, with a City of Sunrise Drive-In at Markham Park (16001 W State Rd. 84, Sunrise 33326; 954-357-8868). Gates open at 5:30PM, and showtime is 6:30PM.

Stay in your car and tune into the sound on your radio. Bring your own snacks and beverages (no glass bottles), as food vendors will not be on site. Outside seating is not permitted, although you can use the portable restrooms as long as you’re wearing a face covering. Dispose of your trash in the provided containers as you exit the area at the end of the film.

The selection will be Abominable, a DreamWorks family film rated PG. The animated adventure is about a teenager who, with her two friends, embarks on an epic quest to reunite a Yeti they find on the roof of her apartment with his family. To do so, they must stay one step ahead of a rich investor and a shady zoologist who want to capture the beast for their own advantage.
