Broward County Animal Care Introduces Virtual Shelter

- New listing will offer detailed information on shelter pets -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Animal Care and Adoption has developed a new “Virtual Shelter” which offers detailed information about all the dogs and cats located at the Adoption Center.

In addition to standard pet details such as age, weight, and breed, the new "Virtual Shelter" complements the traditional listing of pets by providing up-to-date detailed medical and behavioral information for each shelter dog and cat. Potential adopters will be able to select a special search icon to see all the notes in the pet’s record as submitted by shelter staff. The information will give potential adopters the ability to learn more about the pet and make an informed decision about the animal they wish to adopt.

The "Virtual Shelter" will also offer detailed information on At Risk and Urgent pets, who need immediate or special care.

“We are very excited to introduce our Virtual Shelter,” said Emily Wood, Director, Animal Care and Adoption. “The more information an adopter has about a dog or cat, the more confident they will feel about their selection. It is our goal to ensure that every pet in our care find a permanent home. The Virtual Shelter will play an important role in making that happen.”
