Broward County Animal Care Introduces Informational Dashboard

- New feature offers details on the status of shelter operations -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Animal Care has introduced a special informational dashboard that offers current summary information regarding shelter population, and data featuring the intake and outcome of dogs and cats.

While Animal Care provides a numeric report each month, the new dashboard provides the same information in an easy-to-understand visual format.

“At Animal Care, our goal is to be transparent regarding the status of our pets. The new dashboard adds another level of transparency since it offering residents a bird’s eye view of our shelter and details regarding the intake and outcome of the dogs and cats in our care,” said Emily Wood, Director Animal Care and Adoption.

One section of the dashboard highlights the total number of pets in the shelter at any given time. Other sections detail specific categories, including how many pets have entered the shelter and where they were picked up -- which is captured via an interactive map.

The outcome information of pets is also showcased, including the number of pets adopted into a new home, pets returned to its owner or dogs and cats transferred to a rescue partner. Additionally, the dashboard includes a section that reports the shelter’s live release rate (the percentage of pets leaving the shelter via adoption, returning home, or transferred out).

The dashboard information is updated every eight hours and can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.
