BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will perform drainage repairs at the intersection of Oakland Park Boulevard and Hiatus Road in the City of Sunrise (map attached). The work will begin on Friday, April 30, 2021 and will conclude in June 2021, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays. 

The purpose of the project is to repair a collapsed drainage pipe at the referenced intersection and restore the drainage flow. To minimize construction impacts to nearby businesses and residents, most of the work will be performed during the weekends in a 24-hour operation. 

During construction, up to two eastbound lanes on Oakland Park Boulevard and one southbound lane on Hiatus Road will be closed to traffic. Each weekend work will start Friday at 7PM and will end Monday at 6AM. Some work may be performed during off-peak weekdays. At least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction of these roadways. Access to businesses and sidewalks will be maintained. Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
