BROWARD COUNTY, FL –  If you’ve been looking to add a four-legged pet to your family, here’s your chance. You're invited to “Live Large” at Broward County Animal Care, a one-day adoption event on Saturday, June 26, featuring larger-sized dogs that need a home. The event takes place at 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, and puts the spotlight on large dogs that have been in the shelter for an extended period. Adoption fees will be waived for all dogs over 40lbs. New owners will also receive free pet supplies.

Small dogs are often adopted quickly; the bigger dogs are often overlooked. “We have many wonderful dogs who are lovable and make great family members,” said Emily Wood, Director, Broward County Animal Care. “It is our hope that on Saturday residents will take the time to meet these pets and give them the great home they deserve.”

Those considering adoption can visit the Animal Care website to preview all available dogs. There are nearly 100 large dogs at the shelter waiting for their furever home. Each pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before they are adopted. A Broward County license tag is also included. There are many cats and kittens also available at the shelter too.
