BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Be prepared to get wet and/or muddy while exploring one of the distinctive habitats at Fern Forest Nature Center (201 Lyons Rd. South, Coconut Creek 33063; 954-357-5198). Choose the National Take a Hike Day Wetlands Walk on Wednesday, November 17th, or the Maple Walk Swamp Tromp on Saturday, November 20th. Or, for that matter, both.

Each naturalist-led hike starts at 10AM, and each costs $3/person. Space is limited and preregistration is required by visiting the park office or calling 954-357-5198. Then suit up and show up ready to learn about the nature center's flora and fauna.

Recreation. Preservation. Education.
