Hello Wellness! Classes at Three Parks

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Parks Foundation of Broward County is teaming up with AvMed to offer free Hello Wellness! Classes for adults to help maintain a healthy lifestyle and enhance social connections. Three different classes will be offered at three different parks from 10 to 11AM - Long Key Natural Area & Nature Center (3501 SW 130th Ave., Davie 33330; 954-357-5161), Quiet Waters Park (401 S Powerline Rd., Deerfield Beach 33442; 954-357-5100), and T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park (3300 N Park Rd., Hollywood 33021; 954-357-8811). All of the classes are presented by AvMed.

Long Key will host "Mindful Meditation (with Beth)" on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, starting on January 4th and running through March 15th, in the Oak Hammock Hall. Meditation is proven to reduce anxiety, improve focus and sleep, and provide calm during stressful times.

Quiet Waters will offer "Purposeful Movements (with TJ)" on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, on starting January 5th and going through March 16th, in the Bald Eagle Corporate Shelter. Body awareness as well as mental and physical strength provide the foundation for purposeful aging.

T.Y. brings back a class favorite - "Laughing Yoga (with Arnold)" - on the first and third Thursdays of the month, starting on January 6th and ending on March 17th. Participants meet in Corporate Shelter #12. This yoga class is just as it sounds - an hour of laughter, special breathing exercises, and feel-good movements to rejuvenate and renew.
