BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Learn to live stronger through the VetFIT! Walking Program, an innovative fitness initiative for veterans of all ages and abilities, with and without disabilities. The program, through the Special Populations Section of Broward County Parks, focuses on promoting health through a simple, seated yet energizing exercise routine that will motivate participants toward a healthier and happier life.

The program will be held at Shelter #4 at C.B. Smith Park (900 N Flamingo Rd., Pembroke Pines 33028; 954-357-5170). Sessions are from 10:30 to 11:45AM on alternating Mondays, starting on January 10th, and including January 24th, February 7th, and February 21st. Participants are permitted to be accompanied by one spouse, child, sibling, parent, or friend 18 or over.

Each class will consist of a warmup, a walk on a paved and accessible path, various exercises, and a cooldown. Consistent attendance is required for the program, as each session's exercises will vary from those of the previous one's.

Adherence to CDC guidelines for social distancing, hand sanitizing, and wearing facial coverings is recommended.
