Starry, Starry Nights

- Yes, stargazing is possible in South Florida -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Light pollution makes stargazing challenging - so challenging, especially in urbanized areas, that there's an uptick in "astrotourism." While you save up to visit one of the national parks that have become favored dark-sky sites, check out activities closer to home. Next month An Evening With the Stars launches its first full quarter since the beginning of the pandemic at its longtime home, Fern Forest Nature Center (201 Lyons Rd. South, Coconut Creek 33063; 954-357-5198). The free program is from 7:30 to 9PM on Fridays, March 4th, June 3rd, September 23rd, and December 23rd. For more information, call 954-357-5198. Co-sponsored by the South Florida Amateur Astronomers Association.
