BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will be performing drainage,
sidewalk, and curb ramp improvements along Andrews Avenue in Fort
Lauderdale from Davie Blvd. to SR 84 / Marina Mile. The project is scheduled to
begin on or before April 18, 2022, and end on or before February 2023, barring
any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
Work involves repairing existing sidewalks, upgrading curb
ramps to comply with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards, and
installing additional drainage pipes and inlets to alleviate localized water
ponding. During construction, at least one lane in each direction of Andrews
Avenue will be open to traffic. Temporary lane closures will be limited to
non-peak traffic hours, and access to businesses and driveways will be
maintained.
HBMD staff will coordinate project activities with local
businesses, authorities and residents. Variable message signs will be
posted to warn motorists and pedestrians.
Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division can be reached at (954)
357-6040. Project Manager Stanley Bateman can be reached at 954-647-6490 or at SBateman@broward.org.
