BROWARD COUNTY, FL - September is Hunger Action Month® which is dedicated to raising awareness for more than 210,000 hungry people in Broward County. The latest statistics from Feeding South Florida indicate the overall number of residents with food insecurities has dropped from 2021, but the number of food-deprived children increased by nearly 19%. 

Throughout the month, the County urges everyone to donate what they can to help those in need. Food donation bins are available at the locations listed below including all County library branches. Next time you're out grocery shopping, please consider grabbing a few extra items. A list of non-perishable items is available at Broward.org/FoodDrive.

  • Main Courthouse, 201 S.E. Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale
  • North Regional County Courthouse, 1600 W. Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach
  • South Regional County Courthouse, 3550 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood
  • West Regional County Courthouse, 100 N. Pine Island Rd., Plantation
  • Port Everglades, 1850 Eller Dr., Fort Lauderdale
  • Building Code, 2307 W. Broward Blvd., Suite #300, Fort Lauderdale
  • Broward County Main Library and all branch libraries

The County is designating Tuesday, September 20 as "Go Orange Day" and asks everyone to wear orange and use #GoOrange on social media to raise awareness for the ongoing hunger crisis. At the end of September, all food collected will be donated to Feeding South Florida. The County will continue to accept food donations year-round in support of the Food Drive 365 campaign.
