BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Sometimes
you don't need to go physically far
away to experience a getaway - maybe you just need a little change of
environment to make you feel like
you're on vacation. A Family Bed &
Breakfast Camping Weekend at Quiet Waters Park (401 S Powerline Rd.,
Deerfield Beach 33442; 954-357-5100) may be just the ticket.
Two such weekends remain in the 2022-23 season - December
16th-18th and January 13th-15th - and start with check-in at 3PM on Friday and
end two days later, with checkout at 1PM on Sunday. In between, you'll
experience such activities as a hayride on Friday night; games and other
activities on Saturday morning and a movie that night; and a Continental
breakfast on Sunday. Campers are on their own for dinner both nights.
The campground occupies a slender, lightly wooded peninsula
jutting out into one of the park's lakes. You don't even have to bring your own
tent - each campsite features a sturdy 10-by-10-foot tent fully set up on a
concrete platform. Sites also include fire rings, barbecue grills, picnic tables,
water and electricity, and access to showers/restrooms. Preregistration and
prepayment are required. The fees are $100 per campsite for up to four campers,
and $5 per additional camper, up to two. One adult camper aged 18 or up must be
included at each campsite. Preregistration and prepayment are required. A
refundable $50 security deposit is required at time of check-in.
