BROWARD COUNTY, FL - IGNITE Broward is thrilled to
announce an additional location for its third annual edition taking place January
24-28, 2024. The renowned festival of art and light in Dania Beach and downtown
Fort Lauderdale is expanding with a first-time installation at the Fort
Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
Broward County's five-day celebration of immersive art
experiences, presented by Broward Cultural Division in partnership with Mad Arts, is taking the festival to new heights by transforming an exterior airport space
into a vibrant canvas with projection mapping artwork. The collaboration with
FLL will engage travelers and the community in an extraordinary celebration of
innovative art.
Colorful, animated artwork will be projected onto the
nine-story spiral ramp connected to the Cypress Garage, FLL's largest parking
facility, which also houses the airport's consolidated Rental Car Center. The
massive circular structure is visible by vehicles departing the airport, making
it the largest installation ever on view during the free festival.
IGNITE Broward has become known for redefining the
traditional art festival experience by using technology to push boundaries and
increase artistic experiences. The airport setting adds a dynamic new
dimension.
"We are excited to expand IGNITE Broward by bringing it to Broward County's
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This strategic partnership
with our Aviation Department merges art and technology, creating an
unforgettable experience for everyone exiting the airport," said Broward Cultural Division Director Phillip Dunlap.
The third annual IGNITE Broward festival is set to start
illuminating the Cypress Garage at FLL on Wednesday, January 24 at 6PM with
projected artwork by MadLabs until 11PM.
In addition to the airport, the festival features
interactive experiences and sculptures by artists from all over the world at
the following locations and times:
