Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

​​​​​The members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) are appointed by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners pursuant to Article II, Section 2.09 of the Charter of Broward County, Florida. It has 18 members, with each of the nine County Commissioners appointing two members from his or her voting district. 

 

The functions of the PRAB are to: 

  • Provide ongoing process allowing public access to the planning, development, management, and programming of the County parks and recreation system. 

  • Plan and recommend to the Board of County Commissioners proposed projects and activities for the non-land acquisition components of the 2000 Safe Parks and Land Preservation Bond Issue. 

  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners on matters relating to the Parks and Recreation Division. 

The PRAB meets at various park locations on the first Friday of scheduled months. The PRAB also holds a public participation forum one evening per year. All meetings are open to the public.
