WHAT: BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Get your fill of barbecue on Saturday, April 30th, when Quiet Waters Park, in conjunction with the Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce, hosts the Ninth Annual PigOut 'n Deerfield Beach, from 10AM to 5PM. This family event is a competition that "pits" both backyard and professional cookers, in categories such as chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket, with the winner in each category determined by a panel of judges. Everyone attending will have the opportunity to sample all entries and vote for the People's Choice winner.

 

Other activities at the event include SingOut@PigOut, a vocal competition with public and private Deerfield Beach schools vying for prizes (10AM to noon); live musical entertainment; the Wyatt Earp Wild West Show; and Kids' Corner, which includes face painters and a balloon artist.

HOW: Admission: $15/person, or four tickets for $40. The park's regular weekend gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will be in effect.
