CLEAR Expands at FLL to Serve Travelers in all Four Terminals

- Touchless technology to help mitigate public health risk -

Broward County, FLToday, CLEAR and Broward County’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) announced the completion of an expansion project to bring CLEAR’s trusted and touchless technology to FLL’s Terminal 4. With this expansion, CLEAR’s expedited security lanes are now available across all FLL airport terminals. This announcement is the latest in a nearly three-year-long partnership between the Broward County Aviation Department (BCAD) and CLEAR.

As air travel continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, CLEAR is committed to doing its part to promote the safety of all airport travelers and agents. CLEAR’s touchless travel experience minimizes unnecessary passenger and airport personnel interaction by eliminating the need for CLEAR members to hand travel documents to agents during the security screening process. CLEAR uses an individual’s unique biometrics - like their iris - to confirm identity, replacing the need to use traditional identification documents prior to air travel.

“CLEAR has always brought our passengers a convenient and seamless experience, but the benefit its secure and touchless technology brings customers during this public health crisis is an added boon for our airport operations and our travelers,” said Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation of BCAD, FLL’s operator. “Providing our customers with a safe and secure journey with partners like CLEAR is a top priority for our airport.”

In addition to FLL, CLEAR’s touchless security lanes are located in over 55 locations nationwide, including eight of FLL’s 10 top domestic airport destinations.

“CLEAR’s full-coverage expansion at FLL marks an investment in our members and the entire South Florida community,” said CLEAR Chairman and CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker. “We deliver peace of mind to our customers by using secure technology to help them enjoy a safer, simple way to move through airport security.”

CLEAR is an opt-in membership service that never sells an individual’s information. The rigorously tested and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certified CLEAR identification technology relies upon double-encrypted biometric data. A CLEAR membership is billed annually and costs $15 a month with discounts available for select rewards programs, including Delta Airlines, United Airlines and American Express. Family Plans are also available for an additional $50 per adult per year. Children under 18 do not need to be added to your Family Plan and can join for free. CLEAR offers a free mobile application unlocking benefits such as Health Pass, Curb-to-Gate and mobile passport at no charge to participants.
