BROWARD COUNTY, FL - They're back! Pony Rides & Farm Tours return to Tradewinds Park & Stables (3600 W Sample Rd., Coconut Creek 33073; 954-357-8870) this weekend, available on Saturdays and Sundays going forward, 11AM to 3PM for the pony rides, 11:30AM and 1:30PM for the farm tours.
Tickets for pony rides are available in the General Store, with assigned time slots on a first-come, first-served basis. Rides are $3 each or $9 for four (plus tax). Children must be under 52 inches tall to ride.
Farm tours cost $3 (plus tax) per person, children under 2 free. Ticket sales stop 15 minutes prior to the start of the four. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult. For an additional $1 cash (to benefit Tradewinds Farm Hands volunteer group), participants will be provided with grain to feed the goats.
The farm complex, located on the north side of Tradewinds, is home to roughly 20 farm animals, including breeds of cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. The farm was developed to reflect the history of agricultural activities in Broward County and to educate the public about farm animals native to South Florida.
The park's regular weekend gate fee ($1.50/person, ages 5 and under free) will be in effect. For more information, call Tradewinds at 954-357-8870.
