BROWARD COUNTY, FL- The Broward County Convention Center is the place to be this year as the Indian Regional and Cultural Center (IRCC) celebrates the eagerly awaited 11th Diwali Festival of Lights, set to take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 1PM to 10PM.

Diwali, India's biggest and most important holiday of the year, is a festival of lights celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and the human ability to overcome.

The Diwali Festival of Lights is a vibrant, colorful, and immersive cultural experience showcasing the vibrant Indian heritage through dance, music, art, and exquisite Indian cuisine.

"The Diwali Festival of Lights is an amazing experience.  From Bollywood to traditional folk dances, it's colorful, authentic, and a very energetic event.  The Broward County Convention Center is a great venue for this type of large cultural festival," said Broward Commissioner Steve Geller, who is also a member of the Broward Cultural Council.

The Diwali Festival is ideal for people of all ages with performances that include high school and inter-collegiate dance competitions featuring talent from Broward County.  The college competition is open to any team from the United States.

The Festival also offers a variety of Indian food, crafted by skilled chefs and an array of shopping opportunities as vendors come together to present an extensive selection of Indian clothing, jewelry and accessories featuring Indian craftsmanship and style.

Creative artists will join the Festival to display their unique talents and rangoli competitions are planned to make this a truly interactive event to provide a better understanding and appreciation of Indian culture.  Rangoli patterns are bright, colorful and beautiful designs that are associated with Diwali.
