BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Parks and Recreation Division, along with the Florida Forest Service, is scheduled to do a prescribed burn of approximately two acres at Tradewinds Park & Stables (north side), 3600 W. Sample Rd., Coconut Creek, FL 33073, weather permitting, on Monday, April 29, 2024.
A management tool that we must use to maintain the resource is prescribed fire. In addition to increasing biodiversity and improving wildlife habitat, this management tool is essential to maintaining various vegetation communities and will decrease the threat of a catastrophic wildfire by reducing the thick undergrowth.
The prescribed burn will be conducted by professionally trained firefighters from the Florida Forest Service in conjunction with Broward County Parks.
Specific weather conditions are required for the prescribed burn to be conducted. If the weather conditions are not met on the day of the burn, the fire will be postponed.
Recreation. Preservation. Education.
