Sheridan Street and Dykes Road Intersection Improvement Project

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The Highway Construction and Engineering Division is working on a project to widen Sheridan Street to provide dual left turn movements from westbound Sheridan Street to southbound Dykes Road and from eastbound Sheridan Street to northbound Dykes Road in Pembroke Pines and Southwest Ranches. Sheridan Street divides the two municipalities - Pembroke Pines to the south, Southwest Ranches to the north. A map of the work zone is attached below.

Dykes Road will also be widened to provide dual right turn movements from northbound Dykes Road to eastbound Sheridan Street. In addition, the project will include drainage improvements, installation of mast arm traffic signalization, asphalt milling and resurfacing, signage, pavement markings and landscaping.

Work will begin October 3, 2019 and be completed in June 2020 barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays. The work is being performed by Weekley Asphalt Paving Inc. The project value is $2.2 million.

During construction, contractor personnel and inspection staff will work closely with residents and businesses in the area to minimize impacts caused by the project.
