Andrews Avenue Sidewalk and Curb Repairs to be Performed

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing maintenance repairs on the existing sidewalk and curb ramps along Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach. The work will include repairing existing sidewalk and curb ramps. The project will begin on October 21, 2019 and conclude on or before February 10, 2020, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.

Existing sidewalks will be repaired and curb ramps upgraded to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

During construction, traffic in the northbound and/or southbound direction along Andrews Ave may be temporarily restricted to one lane during off-peak traffic periods depending on where crews are working. Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians. A map of the work zone is attached below.

The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division maintains and improves the County's highway/street system, operates drawbridges, and oversees mosquito control operations. The Division is responsible for cleaning and mowing rights-of-way, street patching and resurfacing, intersection improvements, canal maintenance and construction, guardrail maintenance, bridge maintenance, street cleaning, and stormwater drainage improvements.
