Virtual Public Workshop on Penny Funded Transportation Improvement Project
  
- Proposed Roadway and Sidewalk Improvements in Fort Lauderdale -
  

BROWARD COUNTY, FL -  The Highway Construction and Engineering Division is conducting a Virtual Public Information Workshop regarding a proposed penny surtax funded sidewalk, ADA improvements, roadway and drainage improvements along NE 56th Street in Fort Lauderdale. The workshop will be available for the public to attend virtually, at their convenience, here from September 1-15, 2020. Information on the project will be provided and comments will be allowed.

Proposed Improvements:

  • Addition of sidewalks along the north and south side of NE 56th Street from NE 18th Avenue to NE 22nd Avenue

  • Addition of ADA curb ramps at street crossings

  • Roadway pavement rehabilitation (milling and resurfacing)

  • Localized drainage improvements

The $1.5 million project is estimated to start in early 2021 and be completed by late 2021. Design plans can be requested by contacting Aylin Costa, Project Engineer.
