BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Water & Wastewater Services is currently constructing a Reclaimed Water Transmission Main between Broward County’s North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and Palm Beach County. This transmission main will allow Broward County to send 10.5 million gallons per day of reclaimed water to Palm Beach County. The Reclaimed Water Transmission Main Project includes the installation of seven (7) miles of 42” Ductile Iron Pipe and five (5) miles of 24” Ductile Iron Pipe to provide reclaimed water in accordance with the Interlocal Agreement between Broward County and Palm Beach County.
The portion of the project being constructed by Ric-Man International requires work along Powerline Road (SR 845). Due to the large diameter (42” Ductile Iron Pipe) and the location of the transmission main along Powerline Road, the contractor must close the intersection of SW 10th Street and Powerline Road in order to install the transmission main southward towards the Broward County North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The roadway intersection closure will begin September 11 and conclude on September 14, 2020, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
TRAFFIC CONTROL:
- Variable message signs will be posted to inform affected motorist and pedestrians
- Detours will be in place directing vehicular traffic around the work zone
