BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Highway and Bridge Maintenance
Division will be resurfacing Sunrise Boulevard between Pine Island Road and University
Drive in the City of Plantation (map attached), beginning March 14. The project is expected to conclude in June 2021, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.
The purpose of the project is to add new asphalt and pavement marking to the roadway.
To minimize construction impacts to the nearby businesses and residents, the majority
of the work will be completed at night.
TRAFFIC CONTROL:
- During construction, at least one travel lane in both directions of Sunrise Boulevard
will be open to traffic between 9PM and 6AM.
- Access to driveways and sidewalks will be maintained.
- Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.

About Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division
The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division maintains and improves the County's highway/street
system, operates drawbridges, and oversees mosquito control operations. The Division is responsible for
cleaning and mowing rights-of-way, street patching and resurfacing, intersection improvements, canal
maintenance and construction, guardrail maintenance, bridge maintenance, street cleaning and
storm water drainage improvements.
