BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Highway and Bridge Maintenance
Division will be performing drainage pipe cleaning, video inspection and point repair along
NE 56th Street from NE 9th Avenue to NE 14th Avenue in Oakland Park and
Fort Lauderdale (see attached map). The project will begin on June 14, 2021 and will
conclude in October 2021, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.
The purpose of the project is to inspect the drainage system and identify the need for
repairs. To minimize construction impacts to the nearby Northeast High School,
businesses and residents, most of the work will be done during the school’s summer
break and off-peak traffic hours.
During construction, one traffic lane along NE 56th Street will be closed to vehicular
traffic between 9AM and 4PM. Access to businesses and sidewalks will be maintained. Variable message signs will be posted to warn motorists and pedestrians.
