BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing bridge maintenance on the County-owned bridge located on Pine Island Road over the New River Canal (just north of SR-84) in Plantation (refer to map attached below). The project will begin on July 19, 2021 and will conclude in October 2021, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.

The purpose of the work is to replace bridge joints. During construction, at least one lane in each direction of Pine Island Road will be open to traffic. Temporary lane closures will be limited to non-peak traffic hours (9AM to 4PM) and access to the New River Greenway, businesses, sidewalks and driveways will be maintained. Signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
