Second of Six Redistricting Community Meetings Set for Monday

- Submit your own community-drawn map for consideration -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The second of six public meetings to engage the community in the redistricting process will take place on Monday, September 27 at 7PMEvery 10 years following the Census, state law requires the County to redraw political district boundaries to account for population shifts and ensure equal representation. The meeting will be held at the Hollywood Branch Library, 2600 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, 33020. Residents are invited to submit their own community-drawn maps for consideration. Masks and social distancing are required.

Nearly 50 residents turned out for last Thursday’s meeting in Miramar, including several local elected officials and representatives of the League of Women Voters, the Caribbean Democratic Caucus and Latino Vote. Community input is vital to a fair redistricting process. For anyone who does not wish to attend a meeting in person, a virtual meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 29. The community is also welcome to submit comments via email to redistricting@broward.org. More information and a list of additional meetings are available at Broward.org/redistricting.
