BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 25th to make improvements at the intersection of Rock Island Road and Royal Palm Boulevard in Margate. The year-long MAP Broward project is planned for completion in October of 2022 barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
Most of the construction will take place during off-peak hours with periodic lane closures. Traffic delays are expected, however, one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
Project details include:
- Securing traffic lights to withstand high winds during hurricane season
- Modifications to improve left and right turns
- Sidewalk improvements
- Upgrading pedestrian ramps in compliance with the latest ADA guidelines
- Repaving the roadway
- Minor drainage improvements
