BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance
Division (HBMD) will be performing major bridge rehabilitation on a
County-owned bridge located on Old Griffin Road over the C-10 Canal in Dania
Beach (see attached map). The project, funded by the gas tax,
is scheduled to begin on February 1 and will conclude in July 2022, barring any
unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.
The recommended repairs identified by the Florida Department of Transportation will enhance the longevity of the structure by using an
innovative deck strengthening design and construction method developed by HBMD.
This method, one of the first in Florida, minimizes construction impacts to the
public by mainly working on the underside of the bridge.
During construction, one-way traffic control with flaggers
will be provided for two weeks only, when one lane will be closed to vehicular
traffic. Access to businesses, residences and sidewalks will be maintained.
Various signs will be posted to warn motorists and pedestrians.
Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division can be reached at 954-357-6040. Project Manager Stanley Bateman can be reached at

Broward County appreciates your patience as we complete this
necessary bridge repair project.
