BROWARD
COUNTY, FL - Highway
and Bridge Maintenance Division will be upgrading the drainage infrastructure
on NW 23rd Avenue / NW 21st Avenue between Sunrise
Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard (see attached map). The work will begin on
October 3, 2022 and conclude on or before December 2023, barring any
unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.
This maintenance-driven Mobility Advancement Program project will mainly
focus on addressing drainage issues within the project limits. The project
is divided into two phases. During construction, access to businesses,
driveways and the sidewalk along the corridor will remain available.
Section 1: Between Sunrise Boulevard and NW 12th
Court, drainage
rehabilitation from October 10 to April 2023. During this work, the
outside travel lane in the southbound
direction will be closed by phases and the
southbound traffic will be shifted to the two-way left turn lane.
Section 2:
Between NW 19th Street and Commercial Boulevard,
the initial work will involve pipe cleaning and inspection starting October 3
to December 2023. Drainage rehabilitation will follow the
inspection. During construction, one lane (at a time) in each direction
will be closed to vehicular traffic during non-peak hours and traffic will
be shifted to the two-way left turn lane.

the County's highway/street system, operates drawbridges, and oversees mosquito
