BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway Construction and Engineering Division will perform improvements at the Johnson Street, Dixie Highway, Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway and N 21st Avenue intersection in Hollywood. This work is expected to start on Monday, May 1 and conclude in October 2023, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays. This work is funded by the gas tax and grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Project Overview:
- Milling and resurfacing of the intersection
- Upgrading traffic signals to steel mast arms
- New signing and pavement marking
- ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps, crosswalks and pedestrian signals
Staff will work closely with residents and businesses in the construction area to minimize impacts caused by lane closures (See attached map).
