BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Taking
advantage of the summer break for public schools, Broward County Highway and
Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing sidewalk repairs,
installing pedestrian ramps, and performing minor drainage repairs on NE 62nd Street
between NE 18th Avenue to NE 20th Way in Fort Lauderdale (see attached
map). This is the initial phase of the project which is concentrated around
Pine Crest High School. The work is expected to start on June 28, 2023,
and will be substantially completed by August 18, 2023, barring any unforeseen
conditions and/or weather delays.
While the work is being performed, one lane will be closed with
the support of flaggers during off-peak traffic hours from 9 AM to 4 PM. Access to some
driveways and sidewalks will be affected for one or two days. Pedestrian
traffic will be detoured to use the sidewalks across from the work zone. Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
