BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing minor drainage improvements, asphalt milling and
resurfacing in Pompano Beach at the intersection of Copans Road and Powerline
Road (see attached map). The project, funded by the gas tax, is expected to start on August 28, 2023, and will conclude on
November 6, 2023, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays. Traffic Control: - Drainage
repair work will take place only on the eastbound lanes of Copans Road; during
this phase of the project, the right turn lane at the intersection of Copans
Road and Powerline Road will be closed. At least two eastbound traffic lanes
will remain open between 9AM and 4PM
- The asphalt
milling and resurfacing work will require additional closures; during this
phase, at least one traffic lane will remain open in both eastbound
and westbound directions of Copans Road between 9AM and 4PM
- Access
to business and driveways will be maintained at all times
- Variable
message signs will be posted advising affected motorists and pedestrians of
the project

the County's highway/street system, operates drawbridges and oversees mosquito
control operations. The Division is responsible for cleaning and mowing
rights-of-way, street patching and resurfacing, intersection improvements,
canal maintenance and construction, guardrail maintenance, bridge maintenance,
street cleaning and stormwater drainage improvements.
