Sidewalk Project Begins in Washington Park

- Work scheduled to start on Monday, September 18th

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division will be performing sidewalk repairs, installing ADA-accessible pedestrian ramps and doing minor drainage improvements in the Washington Park Neighborhood, located in the Broward Municipal Services District (see map below). The work is expected to start on Monday, September 18, 2023, and be completed by May of 2024, barring unforeseen conditions or weather delays. This project is funded by the Transportation Surtax.

During construction in off-peak hours, one lane of each street being worked on will be closed, with the support of flaggers and a traffic officer. Access to some driveways and sidewalks will be affected for one or two days and affected residents. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to use the sidewalks across from the work zone. Variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.

Project Manager Giovanny Bello can be reached at 954-299-5016 (cell) or gbelloherrera@broward.org.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this necessary project.
